MPPAT
The future PAT can be a city Of optimism. It is a place where equality and harmony reside. It is a rare opportunity to brings ideas, beliefs and environment together to celebrate the new spirit of Korea in the 21th century. To achieve this end, we propose using interconnected urban strategies, which we call Flat City, Link City and Zero City.
FLAT CITY is about equality.
LINK CITY is the connective tissue of the PAT.
ZERO CITY means zero waste. In nature, all waste from one system becomes the food for another.
Diana Balmori founded the landscape and urban design firm in 1990, Balmori Associates, which is acknowledged worldwide for its success in realizing complex urban projects that integrate sustainable systems within innovative design solutions.

In the 2008-09 Budget, Financial Secretary John Thang proposed a 100% profit tax deduction for capital expenditure on environmentally-friendly machinery and equipment in the first year of purchase, to encourage the business community to go green. He also suggested shortening the depreciation period of this equipment from the usual 25 years to 5 years.
The dense population, smoke-belching factories and power stations, ceaseless construction and large numbers of diesel vehicles have made for dangerous levels of particulate matter (RSP) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2).
